A message from Principal Karr

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

I hope everyone’s summer was filled with family-time, lasting memories, and as much air-conditioning as possible! The first day of school is right around the corner, and we are ready for another successful year. Our teachers have been working tirelessly to prepare their classroom and instruction, our staff has thoroughly cleaned and prepped the building, and our community has remained engaged with the school in June and July. We are ready for our Lions to return!

We are introducing a new school slogan this year— “Roaring in Excellence, Every Day!”. As Field Lions, we know the importance of trying our very best in everything we do. Our students and staff will remain focused on continuously growing, learning, and celebrating our accomplishments throughout the year and promoting an encouraging learning environment. When we focus on our growth daily, we develop effective habits that lead to success.

Our families contribute heavily to a positive school environment. I want to give a huge thank-you to our PTO and parent volunteers over the summer who assisted with coordinating play dates, communicating school updates via social media, organizing events for the 2024-2025 school year, assisting with campus upgrades and beautification days, and so much more. A special thank you to our PTO President, Jessica Shimek, and our Campus Improvement Chair, Patrick Shimek, who have been a fantastic support to the school as we prepare for the first day. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I will be regularly posting updates and information on Class Dojo as we kick-off the year. Please continue to check your child’s schoolwide page and teacher page so you have all the necessary information to start the year on a positive note. Please reach out to any member of the leadership team if you have any questions or need anything.

Let’s have a great year!
Principal Karr

A message from our PTO President

Welcome Back Field Fam!  My name is Jessica Shimek, and I am returning as your PTO President for the 2024-2025 school year.  Being a part of the Field Elementary PTO has been a joy for our entire family.  My husband, Patrick, is starting his 3rd year as your Campus Improvement Chair.  Check out all the amazing additions around campus – have you played Gaga ball yet?! We have 2 daughters -- our oldest, Nora is in 3rd grade and our youngest, Wren is in Kindergarten!

Becoming active in the PTO was our plan when we entered Field, and we are SO GLAD we did!  Being a part of the positive changes on campus has been very rewarding.  I feel so proud of the team we put together for this year.  We are coming off another incredible school year and another successful fundraising year.  As a PTO we assisted the school in providing numerous enriching experiences for our children. We supplemented Fine Arts programming and hosted the 2nd Annual Arts Career Day.  We assisted in fulfilling Principal Karr’s vision of a secure campus perimeter with an automated gate for the teacher parking lot.  We made massive upgrades to our stage with new curtains, new audio equipment and speakers, and new lighting.  We cannot wait to hear our Lion Choir sing their hearts out! Our students, teachers, and staff were celebrated all year long and we are looking forward to spreading the love again this year.

Getting to know the school, our amazing teachers, and the dedicated staff are a few of the many perks of joining the PTO all while making life-long friendships!  If you have a passion for volunteering or want to meet more Field parents, I would love to chat with you and have you a part of the Field ES PTO!

Fifth Grade Committee is on the Prowl

The buzz is palpable at Field Elementary as the newly formed 5th Grade Committee gears up for a year filled with excitement and tradition! This dedicated group of parents is working tirelessly with the support of our Principal, Karr, to ensure that our 5th-grade Lions experience a memorable and enriching final year before moving on to middle school.

This year, we are thrilled to announce various engaging activities and opportunities designed to celebrate our student's accomplishments and foster a sense of community. Highlights include a range of fun-filled events and a special focus on building lasting traditions that will make this year unforgettable.

One of the most anticipated events is our annual 5th-grade camp trip to Camp Allen. This outdoor adventure offers students a chance to bond with their peers in a beautiful setting and helps them develop important life skills. To make this experience possible, the committee is organizing several exciting fundraisers throughout the year. Your support is critical as we aim to provide every 5th grader with the chance to attend camp and create lifelong memories.

Parents and families, we look forward to your support in our fundraising events, such as bake sales, a Loteria night, Bin-glow, and more! These events are designed to engage our community and raise the necessary funds for this incredible opportunity. We encourage everyone to get involved, lend a hand, and help us build a tradition that celebrates our Lions and strengthens our school spirit.

Together, we can make this a standout year for our 5th graders, filled with joy, growth, and cherished experiences, and build a sustainable program for 5th-grade lions to come! Stay tuned for more details on how you can support our fundraisers and be part of this exciting journey. Let’s make this a year to remember!
