A message from our PTO President |
Welcome Back Lions! My name is Jessica Shimek, and I am your PTO President for the 2023-2024 school year. Our family has lived in the Heights for 10 years, and this is our 3rd year at Field. My husband, Patrick, is starting his second year as PTO Campus Improvement Chair. Visit our SPARK Park and check out the new play structure! We have 2 daughters -- our oldest, Nora, started 2nd grade, and her little sister Wren will become a Field Lion next school year!
Becoming active in the PTO was our plan when we entered Field, and we are SO GLAD we did! Being a part of the positive changes on campus has been very rewarding, and as President, I plan to build off the momentum we created under our friend and past president, Jen Perry. The 2022-2023 school year was our most successful fundraising year to date during which the PTO provided numerous enriching experiences for our children. We supplemented Fine Arts programming and brought the students their first-ever Arts Career Day. We celebrated our students, our teachers, and our staff all year long and are looking forward to spreading the love again this year.
Getting to know the school, our amazing teachers, and the dedicated staff are a few of the many perks of joining the PTO all while making life-long friendships! If you have a passion for volunteering or want to meet more Field parents, I would love to chat with you and have you a part of the Field ES PTO!
GO LIONS GO! |

Field named Top 10 Elementary School in HISD Congratulations to Field Elementary for outstanding achievement in the Texas STAAR Test Grading Levels! Field Elementary's remarkable performance as one of the top Houston ISD elementary schools is truly commendable. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of Field Elementary's students, teachers, and staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that their students not only meet but exceed academic expectations. Being among the select few schools to have more than 20% of students in the "Masters Grade Level" category is a testament to the school's commitment to academic excellence. Field Elementary's success in the Texas STAAR Test Grading Levels is a source of pride for the entire community and serves as an inspiration to other schools. It showcases that with determination, focused efforts, and a supportive educational environment, remarkable results can be achieved. Once again, congratulations to Field Elementary for this exceptional accomplishment, and may their dedication to academic excellence continue to shine in the years ahead!

The PTO could not do all of the amazing things it does without the dedicated group of volunteers who are so generous with their time and efforts. Involvement with the PTO is a wonderful way to get to know the school, staff, students, and other parents. There are many different ways to get involved. We encourage you to learn more about the events and activities that the PTO sponsors and volunteer where you can. Please note that all volunteers who will be working with students on campus or on field trips need to be registered through the school district’s Volunteers in Public Schools program, or VIPS. VIPS requires all volunteers to register annually. For more information, click here. |
| Field of Dreamers Garden Club We are excited to announce we are kicking off our Field of Dreamers Garden Club for our third season! This amazing program, is run by parent volunteers who donate 25 minutes of their time every Thursday. In this small amount of time students connect with the Earth, plant a thing or two, learn where their food comes from, sample fresh herbs or lettuce depending on what's growing, get a little dirty and explore the wonders of nature. So much goes on in those 7 beds at the front - you would be amazed! We also want to bring the students to the Butterfly Garden that was built and funded by grants and parent volunteers last year. The Butterfly Garden is located outside the PE room. If you have 25 minutes to spare, please let us know. You may reach Ebony Porter at campfirequilts@gmail.com . More information can be found here. |
