● Taste of Field on April 8th
○ Asking for volunteers to sign up via Sign-up Genius
○ Mr. Z will be sponsoring the DJ for the event!
● PNO’s Silent Auction on April 30th from 5-8pm at Space Cowboy
○ Event space was donated and business will donate 15% of sales
○ Fundraiser and silent auction will benefit Fine Arts Program
○ Working on coordinating babysitting at school. Looking for school staff to assist

● March Spirit Nights
○ Eureka Heights had a good turn out; $202 raised
○ Mendocino Farms, Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022, from 11am-9pm; 50% of
online orders will be donated to Field PTO
● Staff Appreciation Week
○ Theme: Our Teachers are Bar None, first week in May
○ Committee has gotten donations from local businesses for daily themes (coffee
bar,
○ Still looking for donations from families for gift cards
○ Mr. Z suggested organizing classroom deliveries for teachers that don’t have time
to visit the teacher’s lounge
Fine Arts Update
● WIVLA Hope Art exhibit
○ Up in school foyer
○ Framed art has been donated by artists
● Art Ancillary Survey
○ Positive feedback about HITS
○ Some parents confused about Young Audiences program schedule rotations
○ Feedback will be compiled and presented at upcoming PTO meeting
○ Next year’s budget will only allow for one Fine Arts teacher
Gardening Club
● Officially named “Field of Dreamers Garden Club” for Pre-K through First grade classes
● Ramped back up last week. Kids took harvested blooms to classroom
● Classes will be working on planting natives and butterfly garden. Most native plants were
donated
● Please consider making donations to the green box. Proceeds will go directly to fund
Garden Club.
● Club will be seeking help during school work days for help building metal teepee for
peace corner
After-School Program
● Looking for at least 4 parents to volunteer during last two weeks to cover after school
program through until the last day of school
● Sign up sheet will be sent out
School Updates
● HISD Budget Plan announced and there will be budget cuts next year
○ Field will lose 3 teachers
○ According to HISD announcement all schools will have a visual
arts/interventionist next year
○ Families are encouraged to email HISD Trustee Elizabeth Santos to express
concerns, Elizabeth.Santos@HoustonISD.org
PTO Board Structure
● Spent time researching other schools’ PTO and PTA structures
● New structure elevates other board member positions to VP level, which will not only
take President position responsibilities and distributing them among other positions, but
will also give other VP’s decision making ability if ever President is not available
● New positions include a Parliamentarian
○ Position must understand by-laws
○ Will ensure proper procedures are followed at each meeting
● Please begin to consider running for Board Member Position for next school year
Open Forum: School Drop Off
● Concerns about traffic and student/pedestrian safety during morning drop off on 17th
street.
● Parents doing car drop offs are creating unsafe conditions in the drop off line when going
around stopped vehicles instead of waiting until cars in front are done dropping off.
● Dojo announcement has been sent by Mr. Z which encourages parents to drive with
caution.
● School has reached out for help from Houston PD
● A concerned parent has escalated issue to HISD superintendent and a meeting with Mr.
Hendrickson is scheduled to find a solution to this issue.
